The main purpose of this diploma thesis is the representation of Roman cisterns operation at the ancient city of Aptera in region of Souda, which is located 15 km eastward of the city of Chania. The hydrosystem is consisted of (a) two cisterns, one L-shaped and a smaller one that are separated in three parts of big piers, (b) the drainage area, which is located in southwest of L-shaped cistern and (c) two baths that are located downstream of the cisterns. The main scope of this representation is the estimation of the daily need of water that these cisterns could cover and the evaluation of the water usage from the residents of the region.
