[proj_id=209]
Duration: February 2026–February 2031
Budget: €198 400
Commissioned by: Water Supply and Sewerage Company of Athens
Contractor: Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering
Principal investigator: A. Efstratiadis
The project aims to provide services in terms of specialized hydrological, hydraulic and management analyses, under extreme hydrological phenomena (cases of droughts and severe flood events). Furthermore, it seeks the preparation of technical reports relating to water use changes across the aqueducts (e.g., inclusion of new water supplies or abolition of existing ones) or addressing changes in its management, due to the interruption of the operation of specific sections. The project is structured into four modules, namely: (1) providing support to the management of the Athens water supply system; (2) development of an application for the management, control and analysis of the system’s supervision and management data; (3) software development for analyzing the flow balance across the external aqueduct network, and (4) provision of consulting services on issues of hydraulic operation of the system.
