[Σύγκριση τοπικών και συναθροισμένων αποτελεσμάτων κλιματικών μοντέλων με δεδομένα παρατηρήσεων]

Συγκρίνουμε τις εξόδους διαφόρων κλιματικών μοντέλων με παρατηρήσεις θερμοκρασίας και κατακρήμνισης, σε 55 σημεία παγκοσμίως. Ακόμη, συναθροίζουμε χωρικά τις εξόδους των μοντέλων και τις παρατηρήσεις στο ηπειρωτικό τμήμα των ΗΠΑ, χρησιμοποιώντας δεδομένα 70 σταθμών, και κάνουμε συγκρίσεις σε διάφορες χρονικές κλίμακες, περιλαμβανομένης της κλιματικής (μέσοι όροι 30 ετών) κλίμακας. Πέρα από το γεγονός ότι επαληθεύονται τα ευρήματα μιας προηγούμενης εργασίας αξιολόγησης, ότι δηλαδή οι προγνώσεις των μοντέλων στη σημειακή κλίμακα είναι φτωχές, τα αποτελέσματα δείχνουν ότι και οι χωρικά ολοκληρωμένες προγνώσεις είναι εξίσου φτωχές.
